The New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) is an American interstate compact established in 1955 by the governors of the six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The compact was approved by each state's legislature and authorized by the U.S. Congress.NEBHE's stated mission is to promote greater educational opportunities and services for New England residents.
