Paris-Austerlitz /
Rafael Chirbes wrote this novel over a span of 20 years and died shortly after completing it. The narrator is a young painter from Madrid who recalls, in an urgent confession, the steps that led to his relationship with Michel, his 50 year-old lover who is dying of a terminal illness.
